Bedding for Modern Bedroom Designs

Bedding for modern bedroom designs can be sleek and simple but also look elegant and sophisticated. In modern bedroom design, less is more as they say and you want your bidding to be simple but stand out by using elegant fabrics and textures.

The modern bedroom is all about clean simple lines and they should extend to your bedding. Modern bedding should be free from distracting and colorful patterns, but can have a pattern embedded in the fabric to give It a two tone look.

When selecting bedding for the bedroom, he should take into consideration the wall colors and rug colors. You want to pull your bedding colors from them but you don’t want the bid to these same exact color as the wall and the rugs. It’s better if you have accent pillows or folded coverlet at the end of the bed that matches the walls to tie it all together.

Most bedding for modern rooms has a monochromatic look. If your room is in the brown tones you might have tans with dark browns with chocolates all as different elements in the bedding. Shades of gray can look nice also depending on the other colors in your bedroom. Sometimes all white bedding can be very striking and all black can make a statement too. When using all one color, you might want to give your bedding a modern look by accenting it was a bright splashy accent color that you also use in strategic places throughout the room.

You can make up for the monochromatic look of your modern bedding by using texture. Rich silks and velvets can really add to the lock. If the room has a masculine flair, you might try some leather pillows to use his accent pillows and complementary colors.

When making the bed, you want it to appear to be inviting and one way to do this is plump pillows at the head of the bed. Even with a modern bedroom, lots of pillows on the bed can be inviting. You want to use elegant pillowcases with clean lines and you can even buy some regular pillows from your local home decorating store. You want to put the larger pillows in the back and small ones towards the front. Most configurations look best with three layers large in the back and smaller the front and the very front layer having maybe just one pillow so the whole thing is sort of in a triangular configuration.
