Bedroom Designs for Girls

When Clarice was born, it was very easy for the parents to decorate the room. All the couple had to do was check out some designs found in the interior design magazine and then get to work.

The room was bright with pink colored wallpaper. It had some plastic toys hanging on the ceiling and a disco light that was switched on at night. The crib was situated near the window so Clarice had sufficient light getting through the window when it was sunny outside.

The parents soon realized that the baby was growing and is now a girl. Since Clarice was already grown up, it was time for this person to recommend what changes need to be made for the room.

When people think about the word makeover, the idea that comes in is breaking down the walls and starting from scratch. Parents don’t have to do this because it only requires a few touch ups that will be ideal for a girl at that age.

The girl must be given time to think about the changes to be done in the room. After all, this is where the individual will be sleeping in and spending time alone when there is nothing to do outside.

The parents should not be surprised if the idea for the room came from a favorite television show, a picture from the magazine or the Internet. This is because kids these days live in the digital age and if this is featured, it must be one of those trends in this day and age.

A survey among teens shows that many want the bedroom to look both fun and sophisticated. The parents can make this happen by painting the room using colors such as chocolate, purple or sage. An old carpet can be hung on the wall while an old pair of denim can be used as a curtain.

It is only after deciding on the color of the wall that the bedding can follow. The girl may like to use silks or other fabrics which will be comfortable when the individual sleeps. Some want the bed to be focal point of the room so using bright colors or an animal print can make this happen.

The room should also have some accents that will bring out the person’s personality. This can be done using chair that comes in a unique shape, a covered lamp made out of fur, a phone that comes in a unique shape, rugs or wall art.

Girls who are a bit more creative can make a design on the wall. Some prefer to use posters while those who have a lot of time can collect a lot of pictures and compact disc covers to create a collage.

This will surely surprise everyone who comes into the room and takes a closer look at each of the photos. Those who don’t have the time but want to have one can look for a company that specializes in doing that. This will cost $50 to $150 depending on the size of the wall.

Some girls of course will not forget the classic look. The walls can be painted white making a small room look big. The existing furniture such as the bed or the dresser can be relocated making the place look different without spending a lot of money.

Parents should think ahead because the girl may not like the design now and want it replaced. This could be after getting a comment from a friend about the room and the only way to make it better will be to make that change.

The parents should anticipate this by looking for ways that are fast and affordable to meet these demands.

There are a lot of designs out there that will look great in the room. Some can be painted while others can be hung or glued on the wall. It doesn’t have to be expensive because it sometimes takes a little imagination and ingenuity to make it look good for the daddy’s little girl.

Whatever the outcome, the parents should accept and respect it because this is all part of growing up with a teenage daughter under the same roof.
